Lady Gaga, also known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Deutschlandotta started her career performing in musical theatre and burlesque in New York's East Village. After a long time of struggle before finally making it the big time in 2005, when she recorded her first album and composed songs for Fergie, Britney Spears and the Pussycat dolls. While the album she released "The Fame" was only moderately successful in the early days, "Just Dance", the single that debuted from the album, was a huge hit just five months after. It was evident that her relentless touring throughout Europe and smaller clubs in America has paid off. Numerous songs from the album were regularly played on the radio in 2009 and she was a recipient of multiple Grammy nominations. She also won two Grammy Awards for her perseverance and dedication to her craft. The music she has released has proven to be a massive success and she continues to be a major news story. She is vocally social activist as well as an exhibitionist who gets particular attention at awards shows.
